How Kontuly licensing works
Straightforward, and nothing locks you out.

| Is there a free trial? | Yes. 30 days of every feature, for up to 5 businesses. Starting it needs the internet once. One trial per computer. |
| What happens when the trial ends? | Your books become read-only. Every screen, report, PDF, export and backup still works, and nothing is lost. A licence makes them editable again. |
| What do I get when I buy? | A licence for one computer that includes every new version released in the next 12 months. |
| Do I have to pay every year? | No. After 12 months Kontuly keeps working as it is. Renewing is optional and adds another 12 months of updates. |
| Why would I renew? | To get new versions, including changes to tax rules and rates. Kontuly doesn't promise lifetime updates, because updates cost money to build. |
| Can I move to a new computer? | Yes. Deactivate the licence in Settings, then activate it on the new computer. |
| Does it need to be online? | A licence checks in at least every 60 days. If it can't, the books open read-only until it reconnects. They're never locked or lost. |
| What if I have more businesses than my licence allows? | The extra businesses stay on your computer and open read-only. You choose which ones stay active. |
